Tips from the Nail Experts: How to Extend the Life of Your Mani/Pedis

August 08, 2017

The Nail Experts have arrived in SM City Iloilo. Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa is the country's go-to-urban nail and spa destination with nearly a decade-long heritage of exceptional services defined by a distinct pampering experience. With over more than 50 branches nationwide, the brand is famed for its relaxing treatments and Hamptons-themed interiors that promise escape from daily stress.

We have to admit that nothing ruins a relaxing trip to the nail salon than having your perfectly painted nails chip or smear (Opps Guilty here!) after that final coat was painstakingly painted on.

So without further ado here are some tips from the pros at Nailholics Nail Salon and Spa in SM City Iloilo on how to extend the life of your mani/pedis:

1. Make sure your nails are moisturized before getting your manicure. Hydrated nail beds cause less nail breakage and chips.
2. Always use a base coat before painting color on. This protects your nails from staining and also acts as a great adhesive for the polish ensuring lasting color.

3. Apply thin coats of polish with every stroke. it dries quickly and doesn't cause bubbles.

4. If you're rushing, dip your tips in cold water to harden the nail polish quicker
5. To extend the life (shine) of your manicure, apply really thin coats of topcoats every other day.
6. Be sure to wear gloves while doing the dishes - water expands the nail bed and causes nail polish to chip
7. Cuticle oil helps freshen up your manicure and moisturize your hand.
and lastly
8. Be careful when applying skin care products. certain types can cause nail polish to dull and sicolor like sunscreen and mosquito repellents.
I had a very relaxing pampering session that afternoon. I tried the Lush lagoon package (Php 970). It consists of a manicure, pedicure, and foot spa with a foot massage.

  1. These are good tips! I've used the cold water trick a few times to dry my nails faster - I don't often have a lot of time for painting my nails with my two boys, haha!

Hope you are having a great start to the week :)
